Each round starts with what is called Come Out roll. With this roll players seek to hit the point. A pair of dice may total from 2 to 12, but only total of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 are considered the point. Totals of 2 (snake eyes), 3 (crossed eyes) and 12 (wagons) are considered Craps, while a total of 7 or 11 is called a Natural. If the Come Out roll yields a result of natural or Craps the round automatically reaches its goal. However, if the launch is a result of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 point is automatically set and the round remains open. Once the goal is reached, the game becomes what is known as midgame, which is the part of the round where the shooter continues throwing the dice until it hits again at the launch point or a 7 - both outcomes will end the round. Among the Come Out roll and the end of the round can be an unlimited number of launches. If the shooter throws a 7 before hitting the point, it's called Seven out and therefore lost, leaving the dice pass to the next player to start a new round. But if the shooter is right at this point he may choose whether to continue throwing the dice or pass them to someone else. A shooter who throws a 2, 3 or 12 in the Come Out roll Craps Out and also looses, leaves the dice pass to the next player. Launching a Natural (7 or 11) in the Come Out roll can repeat a shooter’s roll out. There are a variety of bets that can be made in every shot, some are conditional and others are betting against a particular outcome. There are bets that are valid for a single launch, while others may linger at the table for an entire round, and still others may last for several more rounds. All these varieties of bets make the game of Craps something extremely exciting to watch and play. The best way to start playing craps is betting on the Pass Line at the Come Out roll. 7 or 11 on a Come Out roll the shooter makes an immediate winner, this bet pays 1-to-1. If a point, and this is repeated before a 7, the bet on the Pass Line pays 1-to-1. The next section explains in detail all the betting options. |
